Prior to entering the MRI suite, the patient needs to be questioned regarding if they:
- Have ever experienced an orbital / eye injury or trauma with metal
- Have they ever worked around metal grinding without eye protection
- If there is ANY question regarding the risk of retained metal in the eye, please order a pre-MRI orbit x-ray
