MRI Safety Considerations Every Day

As part of our focus this July on MRI Safety Considerations in our imaging suites, we want to remind everyone, who needs to enter the MRI area, is required to be thoroughly screened and must complete and sign a screening questionnaire prior to entering the MRI area. Here are some examples of what we screen for before entering the MR imaging suite:

  • Pacemakers
  • Implantable cardioverter device “ICD”
  • Pacing wires
  • Aneurysm clips
  • Neurostimulator
  • Mechanical pumps
  • Other surgical implants
  • Metallic foreign bodies
  • Shrapnel
  • Bullets
  • Pregnancy
  • Clothing with metallic design
