Our Case Study of the Month is an:
MR LEFT ELBOW

HISTORY: LEFT ELBOW PAIN SINCE AUGUST 2017 AFTER STRAINING ARM

COMPARISON: None

TECHNIQUE: Multiplanar images of the left elbow were obtained at 1.5 Tesla without IV contrast

FINDINGS:

BONES: There is no fracture or subluxation. No areas of bone marrow edema are seen. There are a few small subchondral bone cysts within the proximal ulnar condyle. The collateral ligaments are intact.

MUSCLES AND TENDONS: There is thickening and abnormal signal within the distal biceps tendon near the radial attachment consistent with a partial tear. There is a small amount of fluid adjacent to the distal biceps tendon. There is no tendon retraction. No evidence of additional tendon injury is seen.

SOFT TISSUES: There is no significant joint effusion.

IMPRESSION: Partial tear of the distal biceps tendon. No tendon retraction.
